1 June 2011 - The government has issued a warning to consumers that Keratin Complex Intense Rx contains excessive levels of formaldehyde which can cause severe skin reactions and even cancer after exposure to chronic high exposure.

The product had already been recalled by Dateline Imports due to the presence of an undeclared ingredient, timonacic acid, that is not permitted in cosmetics. However subsequent testing by the ACCC revealed the dangerously high level of formaldehyde. Consumers who have experienced a reaction need to seek medical advice.
