32 years in the making, substantial changes include less confusing labels with SPF number, use of the words "Broad Spectrum" (if above SPF 15), and the statement "Water Resistant (40 minutes)" or "Water Resistant (80 minutes)” as relevant. FDA has also removed the confusion between SPF and UVB, and has replaced the UVA/UVA1 test requirement with a test similar to COLIPA/ISO/Proposed Australian standard. There is no requirement for UVA in-vivo testing.
