Potential microbiological contamination of fenugreek (20 July 2011).

The TGA is writing to all sponsors with products containing Trigonella foenum-graecum (fenugreek) requesting information about the country of origin of the fenugreek.

If the fenugreek originated from Egypt, the TGA is requesting further information such as certificates of analysis, batch numbers and expiry dates, and microbiological test results. This is due to possible E Coli contamination in some batches of fenugreek sourced from Egypt. (Source: TGA correspondence).
